ALMOGÍA
(MALAGA): The finca nestles in the
mountainside, with spectacular views,
within a typical working Spanish
community yet only 45 minutes drive to
Malaga airport and the coast.
This is an ideal retreat for bird
watchers and nature lovers who want to
get away from the stresses and strains of
everyday life. There are no amenities
apart from a travelling shop which passes
the door each morning and a “bar”
set up in a neighbour’s house. There
are no buses. You need transport.
Your accommodation is in a basically
furnished casita (small house) with en
suite bedroom with single beds, upstairs.
You exit the bedroom and walk down some
exterior steps to reach the sitting room
/ kitchen. There is free wifi, smart TV
with DVD library, books for holiday
reading and guides for the area. The
casita is near to, but separate from the
owner’s house. She is on call only
when needed. The casita with terrace, BBQ
and pool area are for your own private
use.
You will need to be cat tolerant as over
the years the finca has become a
sanctuary for homeless cats. They are
very friendly and will respect your
space. As this is a farming area, at
times there may be some noise from the
animals.
Almogia, a twenty minute drive, is the
nearest pueblo. Here you will find shops,
a supermarket, bars, banks and 24 hour
medical service.
